Peninsula School Feeding Association

Hungry minds & hungry stomachs – feeding them both

‘You can’t teach a hungry child’ is the philosophy behind why we support the Peninsula School Feeding Association by assisting the scheme to provide daily meals to children in primary, secondary, day care and special needs schools across the Western Cape.

Putting cooked meals into kids tummies means they are able to grow happy & healthy with their appetite for education well fed. In fact, since the scheme was established in 1958, every cent goes into providing meals with over 1.5 billion meals made possible through contributions from I&J and others – which facilitates the supply of all the ingredients and the supply of gas stoves and gas, pots and kitchen utensils, plates and cutlery and the training and employment for a stipend of local parents in the kitchen ensures over 250 000 kids enjoy a hot breakfast and lunch at school to keep their minds hungry for more.
