Sesame-Crusted Hake Fillets

Serves 4


  • 5 − 6 I&J Deep Water Hake Fillets
  • Flour, seasoned with salt and milled black pepper
  • Sesame seeds


  • Mix the seasoned flour with a handful of sesame seeds.
  • Dip the frozen I&J Deep Water Hake Fillets for a few seconds in warm water just before coating. Coat the Fillets thoroughly in the flour and sesame seed mixture.
  • Pan-fry the Fillets in a little pre-heated oil over medium heat for 7 − 8 minutes, or until cooked. Turn occasionally. Take care not to overload the pan.

Serving suggestion

Serve the Fillets on a bed of steamed green asparagus. Garnish with sprouts. Add cucumber ribbons and rice noodles. Drizzle the rice noodles with oyster sauce, mixed with grated fresh ginger root.
